Oregon’s environmental legacy is a proud one. We were the first (and only) state to protect all of our beaches for pubic access. We adopted the first bottle bill. We’re pioneers in land use planning. Generations of past leaders have shared the belief that I do—that the health of our economy and the health of our environment are inextricably linked. I have worked with citizens groups to curtail or eliminate roadside spraying of herbicides on state and county roads.
